Between now and July 2024, we’ll collect 10,000 signatures from Baltimore City residents that will allow us to get the community wealth building fund listed as a ballot question in November 2024. If a majority of voters support the fund, Baltimore City will work to implement the fund.
The fund will be allocated to projects such as co-operative businesses, community owned land trusts, agriculture, investment funds, financial institutions and utilities. The fund will be overseen by a 15-member commission appointed by the mayor, and will include Baltimore residents to ensure that different perspectives are heard.
